Hey ya'll!

So it looks like the group kinda died before it got off the ground once I moved, but just in case anyone looks here, I'm making a FB group for this community.  FB groups seem to be a bit more active now, at least this is the case for NOLA Lolitas.

Hopefully we can get it going again.  I can't promise I'll make the meets since I'm still in St. Rose, but I can at least help plan stuff and all.

Guro Lolita Music?

Hello, I'm Yuri Michiyo, I sing and play keys for the Gothic/Guro Lolita themed band Rococo Malade. I'm fascinated by the idea of Guro Lolia, it seems such a paradox, yet when I've seen it done it works so well! However I'm curious as to how I can implement the concept of "Innocent Gore" into my lyrics, so I'm turning to y'all for ideas ^_^ The Gothic aspect I've got down (I've been involved with the Gothic scene for 5+ and have written plenty of horrid goth poetry in my time!) but when I try to Guro it up so to speak, it always comes off as too vulgar. If anyone has any ideas/themes they think would work I'd love to hear them! We have our first show on November 9th (at the Dragon's Den, 435 Esplanade if you live in the New Orleans area ^_^) and I'm quite stuck here >.< Thanks in advance!

Crossed posted to a few other communities btw ^_^

Hearts and cupcakes (I will eat them both)

Just Letting Everyone Know

I'm typing this on a PS3 so hopefully this will work. It looks like I'm going to be moving back to the New Orleans area really soon. I would still travel back here for the Alice movie meet-up, but it doesn't look like I'll have the money. I hope everyone else will still make it happen & have a great time, though! (And take photos!) Brittany, Shai, and Michi, I'm trusting you girls to keep this group alive & keep the meet-ups happening. I'll do my best to make it to as many of them as I can. Much love.

Alice Movie

So is everybody cool with seeing Alice on Saturday (27th) at 4?    Wow okay yeah...I'm a dumbass...I totally thought the movie was out already.  Since it's not, what date after the 5th would be good for everyone?  I'm guessing a Saturday is probably the best bet...I personally won't be available on Sundays unless I skip a class, which I'd rather not do.

The theater I picked is :
Rave Motion Pictures
16040 Hatters Ave
Baton Rouge, LA 70816
Does anyone have a problem with this?

Anybody interested in seeing the new Alice movie since we all got annoyed about it so many times Saturday? haha

Another Update on the Ice Skating Meet-Up

The date is definitely going to be this Saturday, the 13th!

Leo's Iceland
1717 Airway Drive
Baton Rouge, LA 70815

I just called Leo's, and unfortunately, there wasn't a human answering the phone.  I got some information from the recording, but I couldn't ask all of my questions.  I'll make another post after they call me back telling everyone how much it costs to rent skates, if there are lockers and how much they cost, and if we can bring snacks/drinks.

Anyways, their hours on Saturday are noon-3 and then 7:30pm-10.  Which of those two blocks of time would be best for you? Vote!

The cost to enter the building (even if you're not skating) is $11.00.

Well the guy from Leo's called me back!  The $11.00 to get in also covers rental skates.  There are no lockers, so they advise you to lock your things in the car.  Also, we are allowed to bring snacks and drinks., which I would advise everyone to do since we're not planning on going to eat somewhere.  Leo's recommends dressing warmly and wearing thick socks.  In conclusion, don't forget the following things:  $11.00 to get in, shorts or bloomers under your clothes, something to snack on, something to drink, a cardigan (maybe two)/jacket/coat, and an extra pair of socks to go over your lolita ones before you put your skates on.

We'll be meeting at Leo's at noon!  See you all there!  If you want, PM me, and we can exchange cell numbers.

Changes to Previous Possible Meet-up Plans

So, I've been pretty broke lately, but I get more money the first of February.  I'm thinking that instead of a meet-up on the 30th, we should postpone it until the next weekend.  I choose Saturday the 6th.  Is that good for everyone?*

Also, I really want to go ice skating.  I vote we should brave the area/people and go skate!  What about you girls?  (Don't forget shorts or bloomers under your clothes though haha!)

Other possible choices are the Louisiana Arts and Science Museum or the Mall of Louisiana.

Votes ladies? Go!

*Edit:  I really want Michi to be able to attend, and she's working on the 6th, so now we're voting on a date.  She has off on the 13th and 27th.  So hopefully one of those two will work for everyone.  If you can't make one of those dates, vote for the 6th.
